Overbuzzed movies

Last night I watched Brokeback Mountain on Warner Channel and it was way better than I remembered. The last time a saw it was at the movies four years ago. At the time I thought BB Mountain was an overbuzzed movie, the kind of movie that becomes controversial even before being released and then when you finally watch it you've heard so much about it that you don't get what was expected.

But last night I was able to see Brokeback Mountain with different eyes (figuratively, not literally) and I could really see a feel the struggles both Ennis Del Mar and Jack Twist go through by trying to understand the feelings they have for each other. It was really enjoyable. Brokeback Mountain is definitely NOT an overbuzzed movie.

An overbuzzed movie that comes to my mind right know is The Passion of The Christ. The movie generated a lot of buzz for the religious subjects. Some people say that it was good because it showed how brutal Jesus' torture "really" was. But I don't think that showing the torture with explicit violence was cinematographically necessary, we already know how brutal can mankind be and maybe showing a different point of view on Jesus reactions woudl've been much more interesing.

And, did you know that The Passion of The Christ on DVD sold 2.4 millions copies on the first day? But does anybody actually wants to see the movie again? I mean, I can't imagine anyone saying "You know, why don't we make some popcorn and watch The Passion of The Christ DVD? As we watch the explicit torture we can practice our Latin, Hebrew and Arameic".

And also did you know that Ennis Del Mar means "island of the see"? I just thought that was cute.

What other movie (or movies) do you consider to be overbuzzed?

Stolen Act

I hate Sabrina Sabrok. I hate her fake gigantic boobs, I hate her bleached hair, I hate her accent (and I have nothing against Argentina) and I hate her collagen injected lips. I hate her so much I had to find a picture of her with some random hunk so I wouldn't feel bad about posting it here. Why I hate her that much? I don't know, maybe is her mild celebrity status based on selling sex, maybe I just don't like her.

But now I can happily say this.
-F%ck you Sabrina, this b#tch stole your act.

Wow... that felt really good. I feel like having a cigarette, and I don't even smoke.

Note: I hate Sabrina but I respect those who like her for whatever reason.

Mexican, Hunk And NOT A Telenovela Actor

I have nothing against telenovela actors, most of them make a great job in entertaiment. But I'm just glad to see a new (and beautiful) face in mexican modeling that we haven't seen in some telenovela.

Andrei de la Puente is a 25 years old mexican model. He just started building up a portfolio and is eager to break into magazines.

I love his body, his face, his hair and his but (hehehe).

You can check his profile in Model Mayhem and his photos as well (with some damn sexy tan lines)

Study Shows Irish Homophobia

The largest study on Ireland's LGBT mental health was published a few days ago and revealed some disturbing numbers.
  • Almost 20%  have attempted suicide (most of them saw this related to their sexual identity)
  • Almost one third had self-harmed at least once
  • 80% had been verbally abused
  • 58% had been bullied at school
  • 40% had been threatened with physical violence
  • 25% had been punched, kicked or beaten
  • More than half had been called abusive names related to their sexual orientation by fellow students
  • 40% had been threatened by fellow students
  • 20% have skipped school because they were afraid of getting hurt
  • 34% reported homophobic comments from teachers or staff
  • Of those who have ever worked, 15% have been verbally threatened by colleagues

Wow... big numbers I must say. And that's in Ireland, a supposedly tolerant republic. Lucky for me I've never felt threatened at school, maybe in elementary school I was verbally abused for not being good at sports, but that's it. Still I'm pretty sure most of the mexican LGBT people hasn't been that lucky.

The study was carried out by the Children’s Research Centre in Trinity College and
the School of Education at UCD.

Despite all that homophobia, Irish still like to wear kilts

"Tits da Bitch!" is German for "Christina Aguilera Is Photoshopped!"

Well, not exactly. But I did go to a german elementary school in México, so maybe I'm not that wrong. The thing is that some folks over Berlin did some pretty good and interesting Ad Busting at the Kaiserdamm metro station. Watch a complete Flickr slideshow.

Full Male Nudity Instead Of The Super Bowl

Those crazy guys from Comcast, first they throttle your internet conection then they give you porn at the Super Bowl.

“Our initial investigation suggests this was an isolated malicious act,” spokeswoman Kelle Maslyn said in a statement emailed to the Star. “We are mortified by last evening’s Super Bowl interruption and we apologize to our customers. We are conducting a thorough investigation to determine how this happened.”

It is still unclear how many viewers were affected by the clip, which lasted about 30 seconds, and featured full male nudity, Maslyn said.

The interruption was only seen by Comcast subscribers who received a standard definition signal, Maslyn said, while those who watched the game on high-definition televisions were not affected.

The pornography clip was from Club Jenna, an adult cable television channel.

The Arizona Daily Star newsroom was flooded with calls from irate viewers who said that the porn cut into the game with less than three minutes left to play, just after Arizona Cardinals player Larry Fitzgerald scored on a touchdown pass from Kurt Warner to put the team in the lead.

Callers said that the clip showed a woman unzipping a man’s pants, followed by a graphic act between the two.

And many people thought Janet Jackson's boob was too hot for the Super Bowl...

UPDATE: Gizmodo posted the NSFW clip. Not sexy, still funny.

A Football Thing

In the spirit of SuperBowl (which I'm not watching) I thought it would be fun to share this old but always hilarious sketch from MadTV.

Italian, Hairdresser, Gorgeous and Hung

Sometimes great things come with big packages, and that's the case with italian hunk Simone Lucioli. Bio via Tres Fab Sweetie!
His name is Simone Lucioli. He was born on February 8, 1980, in the city of Rome. Life eventually brought the sexy Simone to London, where he started his own business in a studio situated in the luxury of the rejuvenation spa in the London Baglioni Hotel. Here he got the opportunity to work with many celebrities, and it was also in this period in his life he had his first experiences in fashion photoshoots, working for Azagury and Fashion156. As it is often the case with people who work in the creative industry, Simone’s freetime activities are closely related to his professional life. He loves fashion. He loves taking care of himself, meaning going to the gym on regular times and following a healthy diet and life style. He likes to cook, watch comedy shows and hang out with friends in trendy bars and London clubs. Like his illustrious ancestors, he likes to travel, when time allows him. Single at the moment, and with a face and body like his, it seems only a matter of time before he will conquer not only London, but the rest of world as well. Photographer Dylan Rosser.
